I was honored to be asked to introduce my 'Phoenix Rising' ring at Tickled Pink. It took a long time to write my intro, because the cause is so important. This is what I chose to say.
"The phoenix has endured for centuries as a symbol of rebirth—rising from ash not as it once was, but as something stronger, wiser, and more luminous. This ring was conceived with that symbolism at its heart.
For those who have faced cancer, the journey is not about returning to who you were before. It is about transformation— discovering strength you did not know you possessed, redefining beauty, and choosing hope even in uncertainty. The phoenix does not erase the fire it has passed through; it rises because of it.
This one-of-a-kind ring was created exclusively for Tickled Pink as a tribute to survivors, fighters, and the loved ones who walk beside them. Every curve and detail is intentional, reflecting resilience rather than fragility, grace rather than fear. This design celebrates life not as untouched, but as deeply, beautifully, lived.
To wear this ring is to carry a story of courage and renewal. To bid on it is to help fuel research, support, and advocacy that gives others the chance to rise as well. This piece stands as a reminder that even in the most challenging moments, beauty can emerge—and hope can take flight."
